The City of Meridian Wastewater Division of the Public Works Department operates and maintains a 5.0 million gallon per day wastewater treatment plant and over 200 miles of sewer lines.
The City of Meridian has grown by over 400% since 1990 and the Wastewater Division’s treatment capacity has kept pace with growth. Proactive planning and construction of needed treatment processes have kept Meridian on the high end of projected growth curves.
Construction on the wastewater plant over the next three years will add 4.0 million gallons of capacity along with the capability to remove nutrients that cause water quality issues in the environment. Completion of the construction project is slated for late 2006 or early 2007.
