Cans for Cash City Recycling Challenge

The City of Meridian is competing in the �Cans for Cash City Recycling Challenge� again this year.

Meridian will compete against similar sized cities nationwide to collect the most recyclable aluminum beverage cans between October 1 and October 31, 2008. A $5,000 award will be presented to the winning city to further recycling efforts.

To participate in this year�s Challenge, place aluminum cans in your curbside recycle bin between October 1 and October 31.

If you have a large number of aluminum cans you can bring them to Sanitary Services at 2130 W. Franklin Blvd.

Businesses that would like to participate can sign up by calling 888-3999.

Last year Meridian residents and businesses collected 5,074 pounds of aluminum beverage cans during the Challenge - let's see what we can do this year!
